The City of Revelstoke is banning all special occasion fires within city boundaries starting at noon on Friday, July 3.
Special occasion fires include private property fires as well as bonfires, campfires and pit fires. The ban is being implemented in concert with a campfire ban imposed by the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations via the Southeast Fire Centre.
The hot dry weather we are currently experiencing has sent the fire hazard rating soaring.
