Forestry Museum seeks some neighbourly help

The Forestry Museum needs some neighbourly assistance and hopes to get it through this Wednesday’s Museum Volunteer Recruitment Day and Open House.
This event is being held from 11 am until 5 pm on July 22 amd the museum is offering snacks, refreshments and even a shuttle service from the Community Centre at 11 am and 1 pm to attract people who’d like to become a part of the story and part of the fun.
A statement from the museum, which is located beside the Revelstoke Dam off Highway 23 North, said there is no minimum time commitment required. Museum Chairman Brian Sumner said the museum is seekiung volunteers who can help with:

  • Logging equipment restoration;
  • Archiving and exhibit maintenance;
  • Guiding and informing our visitors;
  • Assisting in our Forest Discovery Walks;
  • Helping our firewood fundraising crew;
  • Working in the Gift Shop; and
  • Yard Maintenance.

Seniors and families of all ages are invited to attend. A shuttle service is provided with pickup at 11 am and 1 pm from the Rec Centre front desk, or we can pick you up right from your door. Call Brian at 250-814-7355 for a ride. Click here for more information or call the museum at 250-837-8078.
