The Illecillewaet Greenbelt Society is seeking proposals for artistically rendered maps to be displayed in the two covered kiosks at each end of the Greenbelt.
The society learned this week that it has been granted a significant amount of money for this project from the Tourism Infrastructure Fund. The society is hoping for proposals in the $1,500 range.
The existing maps, which are fading and out of date, are mounted on 4’x8′ sheets of either 1/4″ or 3/8″ plywood. Both signs measure 44″ high and 72″ long.
Please note that the existing maps are no longer current and accurate. Please contact Greenbelt Society President Louisa Fleming at louisaf@telus.net to inquire about existing maps.
Proposals from local artists can be in any durable medium, must fit the above dimensions and must be easily mounted.
Proposals should include a biography of the artist, their qualifications, notable works they have created in the past, clear and well-executed sketches and designs, an itemized list of costs (including installation estimates) and, of course, contact information.
Complete proposals can be sent by Canada Post to the Illecillewaet Greenbelt Society Board of Directors at Post Office Box 306, Revelstoke, BC, V0E 2S0. Proposals — if complete — may also be sent via e-mail to President Louisa Fleming at louisaf@telus.net.
