The Girl Guides Movement marked another year of success with an advancement ceremony of local Sparks, Brownies, Guides, Rangers and Pathfinders at the Community centre on Tuesday, May 26.
The roughly 55 girls enrolled in the movement are enthusiastic and bright young ladies who are guided in their tasks by some remarkably dedicated ladies. Their ceremony was attended by about 50 spectators, mostly parents, siblings and grandparents.
Here are some photos from their special evening, followed by an audio documentary created by EZ Rock’s Shaun Aquiline:
EX Rock's Shaun Aquiline is a big fan of all things Revelstoke, especially the Sparks, Brownies, Girl Guides, Rangers and Pathfinders when they come to his door bearing boxes of delicious cookies. Shaun was at the movement's special day when girls who have acquired the necessary kills and badges fly up to the next level of the movement. Here he is interviewing a guide for the mini-documentary at the bottom of this story. David F. Rooney photo
