The U14 Boys Rep soccer team opened their season this Sunday in Vernon.
Still waiting for local city fields to open the boys have been practicing in the RSS gym and on the school fields to get ready, playing catch up to the larger centres whose boys and girls have been outside for some time already.
The boys came out strong and played well, taking a 2-0 lead into the half. Parents and coaches alike were impressed with their early season form and control.
The second half saw Vernon tie it before Revelstoke pressed hard but failed to pull ahead despite a quality effort. The game ended in a well-earned 2-2 tie.
The team has a 14-game season that sees them out of town for six games straight before playing seven at home and a final away game.
Please look for an opportunity to come out and support the lads as the season progresses to those home games and they host teams from thoughout the Okanagan this spring.
