Rooney This derailment at about 2:45 on Thursday, April 2, created quite a stir downtown: Review reporter Alex Cooper (far left) talks with retired CPR employee George Hopkins who witnessed this derailment in downtown Revelstoke on Thursday, April 2, at about 2:45 pm. “My son and I… saw this car start to go over and heard the crashing and banging as it did that,” he said. “We called CP and reported it.” George said the train “wasn’t moving very fast and all of a sudden that car just flopped right over.” The car immediately behind it also jumped the track.
