Mounties seize cocaine and a rifle

RCMP arrested a local man and woman during an early-morning search at a home in the 1900 block of Laforme Boulevard that also resulted in the seizure of cocaine, a rifle and ammunition on Wednesday, March 18.
Cpl. Thomas Blakney said in a statement released Thursday that the 33-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were charged with possession of a controlled substance and several firearm-related offences including unsafe storage of a firearm. He would not say how much cocaine was seized. They were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Wednesday, April 1.
“The Revelstoke RCMP would like to remind the public and if you do own a firearm they are to be stored, unloaded, with a trigger lock or have the bolt removed and stored in a secure container such as a locker with a lock,” he said in the statement. “The firearm must be stored so that is not readily accessible to ammunition… for further information (regarding) storage of firearms please visit the RCMP website at www.rcmp.gc.ca.”
