Revelstoke Crime Stoppers seeks new members and a new leader

Revelstoke Crime Stoppers needs energetic, proactive volunteers who will bring new ideas for fundraising and awareness.
“We are looking for people who will step up to help keep our community safe,” the group said in a statement released Wednesday, February 11. “It’s more than just showing up at a monthly meeting, it’s volunteering your time and making a commitment to do the work.”
Revelstoke Crime Stoppers is a non-profit, community-based program working in conjunction with the police, the news media and the public to solve crime and make Revelstoke a safer place. Crime Stoppers provides community members with a way to anonymously supply police with information about a crime or potential crime. Tipsters are anonymous and therefore never testify in court. Anonymous cash rewards of up to $2,000 may be paid for information that leads to an arrest or solves a crime.
“Due to the nature of Crime Stoppers, volunteers must be approved onto the board and must provide a criminal record check, have only positive interaction with the police, and take an Oath of Secrecy,” the statement said. “If you are driven by passion for community safety, we want you and need you!”
If you are interested in coming on board or would like more information please e-mail Roberta @ rciolli@telus.net or leave a message at 250-837-2939.
