Keep your eyes peeled if you’re out and about near the Big Eddy dyke: Some residents have reported seeing a possibly pregnant moose in the area.
“A moose, which might be a pregnant female, has been seen many times by many people — mostly dog walkers — in the Big Eddy,” Barb Little told The Current on Friday, February 20.  “First it was just huge footprints being spotted, then my friend Linda saw the moose on two occasions. “I was hoping you could do a heads-up for all the walkers that a moose is wandering in the Big Eddy — mainly between the dyke, the bridges and the river, but my guess is that she’s all over the place.
If you spot the animal do not approach it; moose can be very dangerous.

Women entrepreneurs thinking of attending the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FEW) E-Series mentorship program in Vancouver April 8-10, can help defray some of their costs by applying for one of 23 grants worth $2,500 each.
A statement about the program said the grants are supported by Teck Resources and KPMG. These grants cover programming, inclusion in the Mentor Program for 14 months of one-on-one mentorship, and travel and accommodation costs.
E-Series is the FWE’s longest running signature program, and since 2002 can boast that 89% of all participating entrepreneurs are still in business, compared to the national Canadian average of 50%.
Inspired by MIT’s Birthing of Giants program, E-Series has been referred to as a “mini MBA” for emerging entrepreneurs and has been attended by notable women such as Judy Brooks, co-founder of Blo Dry Bar, and Caterina Fake, founder of Flickr, the statement said.
Monday, March 2, is the deadline for submitting applications for the grants and program.
