Friday's crash claims a second life

A second woman has died as a result of Friday’s accident on the Trans-Canada Highway 30 kilometres East of Revelstoke.
“Although Southeast District Traffic Services is still continuing with their investigation they can confirm two adult females are deceased and one adult male remains in critical condition at Royal Inland Hospital; in Kamloops as a result of this crash,” Cpl. Thomas Blakney said in a statement released at 11:57 pm on January 2.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown but “indications are that a Westbound pickup truck crossed the centerline and was struck by an Eastbound pickup.”
The Westbound pickup contained the injured driver and his two female passengers.
Blakney said that “out of respect for the families no names are being released at this time.”
The initial report on this accident said four vehicles were involved in the accident. There is no word on the people in those vehicles. Presumably they are uninjured.
The highway was reopened at 11:55 pm.
