Fire destroys a young family’s home

A young family lost all of their possessions in a morning fire that destroyed their trailer in the 1200 block of Oscar Street on Tuesday, December 30. However, they were — fortunately enough — all out of town at the time.

Cpl. Thomas Blakney of the Revelstoke RCMP said the family has been notified of the fire, but had nothing else to add. The fire is under investigation.

The family’s name was not released but neighbours said the trailer was occupied by a young mom with four children and a number of pets.

This is the second family in three weeks to lose all of their worldly goods due to fire and we hope the community rallies to help this family as it did to help the Goodmans when their trailer went up in smoke earlier this month.
