A very nice news story for Christmas

The social emotional needs to SD 19 students are of paramount importance to administration, teachers, parents and of course the students themselves. Students are learning how to be better citizens by being helpful compassionate, and engaged people.

Acts of giving and kindness are being taught in classrooms across Revelstoke. Today in our classroom at Begbie View Elementary School we did a lot of giving as part of the process of strengthening our social emotional learning. Each student made a beautiful origami box and filled it with ‘good wishes‘ for the Christmas season.

Students then went around to local businesses and asked shopkeepers if the boxes could be left for customers to discover and take a ‘good wish.’

If you find one of these boxes, please take a good wish and pay it forward with kindness!
