Revelstoke Bear Aware has restarted its own local Facebook page which will continue with updates throughout the winter, and will be a hub for wildlife information in Revelstoke from now on.

An e-mail from Coordinator Sue Davies asks local Bear Aware supporters to “like” its page, which you can find at https://www.facebook.com/revelstokebearaware .

The prize winners for the Revelstoke Seniors Quilt Raffle drawn on December 3 are:

1st Prize – Tracy Kessler, who reiceives that handmade quilt made by the Mount Revelstoke Quilters Guild; and
2nd Prize – Betty Donato, who won the quilt-themed cros-stitch-framed picture handmade by Marla Manson.

The Revelstoke Seniors Association would like to thank the Mount Revelstoke Quilters Guild for their kind donation of the beautiful quilt and Marla Manson for her kind donation of the cross-stich picture.

“Both items were absolutely beautiful and are the reason why we had such a successful raffle,” Association President Ruth Boettger said in an e-mail to The Current.  “All proceeds from the raffle have gone into the Fuel Contingency Fund for the Volunteer Medical Transportation Program.  Thank you to everyone who supported our raffle and our cause.”

Revelstoke Mounties stopped and recovered a white 1984 pickup truck that had been stolen in Sicamous and was on its way East on the Trans-Canada Highway on Wednesday, December 3.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Barrier, was arrested near Crazy Creek and charged with two counts of possession of stolen property user $5,000, says a statement from the RCMP.

Will appear in Revelstoke Provincial Court on March 4.
