1921 – 2014
Joan Nelson passed away at Queen Victoria Hospital, Revelstoke on November 18, 2014 at the age of 93 years.
Joan was born in London, England on October 2, 1921. She came to Revelstoke as a war bride and resided here until 1970. She moved to the Lower Mainland to help raise her two grandsons and returned to Revelstoke in 2004 where she resided until her passing.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Nelson in 1966 and her daughter Loralee Riley in 1998. She is survived by her son Butch (Carol) Nelson; two grandsons: Nicholas (Christine) Riley and Scott (Rachel) Riley; brother Tony Sadler and sister Betty Sargent as well as numerous relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed for her wit and sense of humour. We are all going to miss her one and all.
A family memorial service will be held in the spring of 2015.
