City CAO apologizes to Alan Mason

By David F. Rooney

Chief Administrative Officer Tim Palmer has apologized to Alan Mason, for suspending the Community Economic Development director last week.

“Mr. Palmer expressed regret for the anguish and impact on Mr. Mason’s family,” says a news release issued by City Hall on Wednesday afternoon, November 5, a day after Council met in camera to discuss the matter. “Further the suspension from the workplace was a regrettable consequence of an ill-timed, unnecessary escalation of an avoidable misunderstanding.”

A story in The Times Review quoted Mayor David Raven as saying he and all City Councillors were unaware of the suspension.

Mason has been reinstated in his position.
