CFDC calls for transparency regarding Alan Mason’s suspension

Community Futures Development Corporation Chairman Mike Cummings has sent a letter to Mayor David Raven and City Council expressing its deep concern over the Alan Mason affair and its expectation that an explanation will be forthcoming.

Mason, the City’s long-time director of Community Economic Development, was suspended with pay last week. Because this a personnel matter no explanation has been forthcoming from the City and Mason himself has refused to comment on the situation.

However, scores of Revelstoke citizens as well as concerned individuals throughout our region have commented on The Current regarding this affair.

Council has called a special meeting to be held in the Council Chambers on Tuesday, November 4, starting at 3 pm. Although no agenda has been issued for this meeting (that in itself is unusual) it is thought that Council will discuss the Mason Affair during the in camera portion of its meeting.
