Who do you think are the best volunteers in the city? Well, you can have your say by nominating the person you think best embodies the Spirit of Revelstoke.
Revelstoke has a strong history of volunteerism. Volunteers represent one of the strongest threads that tie our community together. As Revelstoke grows, continuing citizen participation in local organizations and events is necessary to keep our town the friendly, happening place we all know and love.
To honour our volunteers and help promote volunteerism in Revelstoke, Community Futures is pleased to announce the 2014 intake for the Spirit of Revelstoke award.
You can nominate your favourite volunteer today. The deadline for nominations is Friday October 24. The awards will be presented at 5 pm on Wednesday, November 26 during the Volunteer Fair at the Community Centre.
The Spirit of Revelstoke Award program program recognizes citizens who have made outstanding volunteer contributions to our community.
The volunteer you nominate can be any age, and their volunteer contribution must be significant.
- Having occurred on a regular basis over time (i.e. shoveling a neighbour’s driveway all winter), or
- Related to a community organization, or
- Having made a major impact on a specific project that will benefit the community at large.
