Revelstoke Crime Stoppers has an update on their website regarding the creep who shot a couple’s dog near Three Valley Gap last weekend.

A man who was out with his girl friend and his husky-cross pet named Ollie was horrified when a man with a rifle wantonly shot the dog on Wap Lake Road near Three Valley Gap then fled in a pickup truck.

In a statement, RCMP Cpl. Thomas Blakney said the incident occurred on Saturday, October 4, at about 1 pm.

“An adult male described as Caucasian, late twenties to mid-thirties, short dark hair with a few days growth of facial hair, wearing dark clothing and a baseball cap was observed getting into the driver’s side of a pickup truck with a firearm and then fled the scene as the (dog’s) owner frantically gave chase on foot.,” the statement said.

The update is with regard to the shooter’s vehicle, which may have been seen in the Nelson area:

  • It is an early 1980s’ Regular Chev two-door pickup truck, possibly with a tonneau cover and possibly a short box;
  • No lift kit;
  • The truck’s front chrome grill is the small chrome tubular after-market grill.
  • The truck had a flat chrome bumper with no licence plate insert; and
  • The vehicle’s paint colour is a mixture of  black and purple.
