Scott Duke is a very energetic guy. He was the driving force behind the creation of Stoke FM. He has, along with his partner Eve Northmore, a rental property management company. And then he’s active with the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club and, as you may know, he’s now running for City Council. So, yeah, he’s a busy guy.

He’s also a very clever young man who, it is obvious to anyone who talks with him, has ideas about ways to improve life in our city.

Scott is also an excellent representative of what locals call “the new demographic” — those mostly youngish 20-or-30-something men and women who have decided to make Revelstoke their home.

Just like Revelstoke residents who have been here for generations Scott is concerned about some of the issues that are coming to the fore: Municipal debt and spending; a stuttering local economy; and our dwindling population.

For years Revelstokians have said they’d like to see some fresh young blood on Council. Perhaps that blood may be Scott’s.
