Karen Powers is well known as the friendly, easy-to-talk-to owner of the Conversations Coffee House but she also has an abiding passion — and concern — for the neighbourhood she grew up in, the Big Eddy.
That’s why issues such as the Big Eddy Waterworks recent plea to be taken over by the City of Revelstoke and related problems affecting development here are prompting her to speak out.
She does that honestly and articulately in a recent video interview with The Revelstoke Current, in which she also lays out the reasons she thinks it’s time that community had a real voice at the Council table.
