With 12 years as a Councillor under his belt, you can easily characterize Chris Johnston as the grand old man of Council. He has weathered his share of issues large and small and is known to Council watchers as a man who is thoughtful about what he says and how he says it. He hopes his steady approach to Council will win him re-election. But he knows his political fate is in the voters’ hands.

Chris thinks that Revelstoke comes off pretty well when it is compared with other communities its size. Yes, it has its problems, but for the most part they are no worse than the problems you’d find in any other small cities with populations between 7,000 and 8,000 people.

Issues like the Big Eddy Waterworks pose real challenges for the future but there is no reason to go off half-cocked about them. That way only leads to more problems.
