Looking for books in French? Check out the Bibliobus! 2014-09-27Six times a year a vehicle loaded with French-language books and magazines for children and adults alike rolls into Revelstoke and parks outside La Baguette. This is the Bibliobus organized by the Association des Francophones des Kootenays Ouest. The driver on Thursday, September 25, was Lise Godin who hauled tupperware boxes of books inside the popular cafe to make them accessible for one pre-arranged hour. “Revelstoke is a good place. We get a bunch of people who come out — 15-20 at least.” The Bibliobus also visits schools in the region. The library on wheels visits Revelstoke once a month from September to November and from April to June. People wanting to borrow books need to be AFKO members ($12 for individuals and $20 for families). Godin also mentioned a special opportunity for those wanting to take the international French test. Normally the test costs $80 but AFKO members can take it for free until November. Call 250-352-3516 for details. For more information see http://www.afko.ca.
