The 17th annual Little Bear soccer tournament was held last weekend with 43 teams from BC and Alberta and, for the first time, one team from the Yukon.
The results are as follows with the teams being listed in order of gold, silver and bronze medals:
U12 boys: Canmore, Whitehorse, Williams Lake
U13/14 boys: Kootenay South, Revelstoke, Shuswap
U14/15 boys: Cranbrook, Shuswap, Canmore
U16/17 boys: Vernon, Canmore, Revelstoke
U13 girls: Kootenay South, Shuswap, Williams Lake
U14/15 girls: Calgary, Keremeos, Kootenay South
U16/17 girls: Shuswap (16), Calgary, Shuswap (17)
Tournament coordinator Alan Chell credits the Revelstoke Youth Soccer Association and the rep teams for doing an excellent job of hosting. Visiting teams raved about the quality of the fields. A big thank you for field preparation goes to the City of Revelstoke, the School District , Sergio Spataro and Danny Donato. The annual skills competition and pool party are always highlights of this tournament
