The RDHS has a basket full of fluffy balls of love for you

The Revelstoke & District Humane Society has a basket full of fluffy balls of love they’d like to share with the community during their September 13 Open House at the animal shelter on Victoria Road.

The facility is — for now — home to 18 new kittens that the RDHS hopes will find loving homes this fall.

“We don’t often get this many at once,” said the RDHS’ Shannon Van Goor. “We really need to find good homes for them.”

The kittens are extremely young and are, like most baby animals, terminally cute. The desire to cuddle them and take them home is almost irresistible.

“We will be taking adoption applications for all our beautiful kitties that are ready to adopt and applications for kittens who will be ready to adopt soon or who qualify for our foster-to-adopt program,” Shannon said.

The RDHS wants to introduce the babies to the community during a Saturday, September 13, Open House at the shelter from 10 am until 2 pm.

The shelter is located in the Public Works Yard across from the Forum’s back door on Victoria Road East. Visitors will have to park at the Forum as there is no space for private vehicles at the Public Works yard. Volunteers will be at the gate to show visitors the way to the shelter.

Who knows you may even fall in love with one of the 10 older cats that are also housed at the shelter.
