Studio Connexion Gallery in Nakusp is showing pastel works by British-born artist Sharon Bamber from August 13 until August 30. The Wild CONNECTions exhibition features soft pastel work and can be seen along side of some of her previously seen works.

“Bamber is a new associate-member of the prestigious Society of Animal Artists based in New York City, which has a few hundred members worldwide,” Studio Connexion proprietor Anne Béliveau told The Current. “Last fall, she spent a week with Robert Bateman. And in the spring of 2013, the artist was the runner-up to the title of BBC International Wildlife Artist of the Year.

“Sharon’s soft pastel paintings will be of interest not only to art collectors who love her unique style but also to nature, landscape and wildlife enthusiasts. This series is a combination of nine new pieces made especially for this exhibition and other pieces from the On the Wild Side and Wild Waters shows presented at the gallery.”

Wild  CONNECTions runs from Wednesday August 13 to Saturday August 30. You are invited to spend an afternoon with the artist from 1 to 4 pm on the last day of the exhibition August 30. Refreshments will be served. Studio Connexion Gallery is located at 203 Fifth Avenue in downtown Nakusp. That’s only 2 1/2 blocks from Broadway Street. Regular hours are 11 am to 4 pm, Tuesday to Saturday or for a private appointment call Anne Béliveau at 250-265-3586.
