The music from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera will echo through Revelstoke Mountain Resort’s Revelation Lodge on Friday, August 29.
The Welsh-born Peter Karrie, who portrayed The Phantom in Lloyd Webber’s worldwide production as well as in the Vancouver production for 10 years. Karrie has also played Jean Valjean in Les Miserables at London’s Palace Theatre, Che in Evita during that production’s first national tour in the United Kingdom as well as many other stage musicals such as Man of La Mancha, Oliver! and Fiddler on the Roof.
This intimate concert series, The Phantom of the Opera Returns, features all the hits of the original Phantom of the Opera production as well as other selection from Karrie’s best-known roles.
He is appearing with Argentine-born singer Melina Moore who now lives in Vernon. Moore was trained at Juilliard in New York and debuted as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro with the Bel Aria Opera Company in Manhattan. She has sung roles as Despina in Cosi Fan Tutte, Gretel in Hansel and Gretel, Adele in Die Fledermaus and other operatic productions at the Alice Tully Hall, the Juilliard Opera Centre and other major theatres on- and off-Broadway.
