GOLDEN — Stuart Dickson of Revelstoke just won first place in the BC Enduro bike race in Golden this weekend. a bike race in Golden today in the BC Enduro Series. “He has done quite well this year and made it to the podium in the first two races and first place in this one,” his mother Linda told The Current. “He is racing in the Men's Pro Category.” David Harder came in second place and Nate Briggs came in third. Enduro racing is a combination of cross-country and downhill, where riders set out on a pre-determined course, but only segments of that course are timed – predominately the descents. It allows for a more relaxed fun style of racing/riding where you can ride casually with your buddies during the transition/climbing sections and then get your race game on for the timed descents. It allows riders to explore new trails and riding locations throughout BC while still getting the competition side of it. Photo courtesy of Linda Dinckson

The Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society (CSISS) is one of two organizations making presentations to City Council on Tuesday.

The year-old CSISS seeks to eradicate invasive plants and animals within the boundaries of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

The other presentation is to be by Jean Marc La Flamme of the Jump On air service.

Their presentations will begin shortly after the regular Council meeting begins at 3 pm.

Other notable pieces of business before Council include discussion of a proposal to ask the Columbia Basin trust to open a satellite office in our community or that it make provisions to allow Revelstoke residents to work remotely for CBT from here.
