School District 19 has officially announced that the city’s four schools — Arrow Heights, Begbie View, Columbia Park and RSS — will be closed when teachers strike on Tuesday, May 27.
“While school facilities will remain open under the supervision of principals and vice-principals, we will be unable to provide students with instruction or appropriate supervision during this period of job action,” SD 19 Supt. Mike Hooker said in a latter that is being sent home to parents on Wednesday, May 21.
F”or safety reasons, we are therefore requesting that parents keep their children at home on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. As a result, school buses will not be in operation.
