BC Transit has a special gift for grads

BC Transit is helping high school graduates celebrate their accomplishments with the GradPASS program.

The special pass offers two days of free, unlimited transit travel during the month of June. A total of 19,500 GradPASS cards will be given to Grade 12 students in 30 communities.

First introduced in Vancouver in 1988, the number of participating GradPASS communities has grown to 20.

This year, GradPASSes will be given to students in Abbotsford, Campbell River, Central Fraser Valley, Chilliwack, Cowichan Valley, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Kelowna, Kitimat, Ladysmith, Mission, Nanaimo, Osoyoos, Pemberton, Penticton, Powell River, Prince George, Prince Rupert, Revelstoke, Rossland, Salt Spring Island, Squamish, Summerland, Sunshine Coast, Terrace, Trail, Victoria, Vernon, Whistler and Williams Lake.

GradPASS is easy to use: students simply scratch off their two chosen travel days and show the card to their bus driver. GradPASS is not transferable and can only be used on participating local systems.
