Don was born on September 18, 1944, in Broadview, Saskatchewan, and passed away in Vernon, BC, on April 22, 2014, at the age of 69.

Don was predeceased by his parents Tom and Noreen and in-laws Bob and Betty McCubbing. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Jean; sons: Robert (Kerri) and Gregory (Chrysta); grandsons: Derek and Donovan; granddaughters: Paige and Megan; sister: Janet Braun (Nick); brother-in-law: George McCubbing (Anne), sister-in-law: Margie Cregan (Jim); and numerous nieces and nephews.

After Don and Jean were married in 1968, they lived in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Thompson, Edmonton, and Calgary before settling in Revelstoke in 1976 where he worked for ICBC. He started working for CP Rail in 1979 where he worked as a locomotive engineer until he retired in 2004 and moved to Armstrong. Don enjoyed RVing and loved to spend winters in Arizona. He also liked to golf and spend time with friends and family, especially watching the grandkids play their various sports. Don was a Mason and Shriner and he loved driving the mini cars in various parades. He was an active member of the United Church working on different committees and enjoyed helping out at the Armstrong fair. He met many people at the church that became like family to both him and Jean.

The family would like to sincerely thank all those involved in taking care of Don including the nurses and doctors on the second floor at the Vernon Jubilee hospital.
