RONA recently sponsored DECK by Lucas Meyers, which was performed at RPAC to a crowd of over 115 theatre-goers. In partnership with the Revelstoke Arts Council, RONA donated all the materials for the actor to build the deck in the course of the performance. The play involved the creation of a ‘deck’ on stage and ironically Lucas asked for 6 volunteers from the audience. Three current and past radio DJs helped out: Scott Duke of Stoke FM; Shaun Aquiline of EZ Rock; and Steve Smith, the former EZ Rock DJ who now works of Vic Van Isle and RONA. After the show the deck was donated to Community Connections’ 8th Street Group Home on behalf of RONA. From left to right are: Chelsea Groffen of RONA, Vanessa Hermansen, assistant director of Community Connections’ Community Living Services for Adults, the Revelstoke Arts Council’s Garry Pendergast, Steve Smith of Vic Van Isle and RONA, and the ever-affable Ian MacIntosh.
