In Pictures: Spirit Fest 2014 — Days 4 – 6 2014-02-09Spirit Fest 2014 continued all last week with events for young and old. Here are a few photos from some of the highlights of the festival:Spirit Fest’s second week opened with Aeriosa Dance Company offering local youths a taste of what it’s like to dance in mid-air during a workshop held at RSS and the Performing Arts Centre. Miriam Manley photoThe workshop, held on the afternoon of Sunday, February 2, was attended by 18 people seven of whom were from Salmon Arm and dance with Just For Kicks. We’ll bet that this young woman imagined herself flying right through the window. Miriam Manley photoThe Stoke FM Pub Golf Tournament was held on Tuesday, February 4. Jesse was the first golfer to attempt the course at The Cabin. Tournament participants played courses at pubs all over town. David F. Everest, and to do it together as a family. It was an incredible journey filled with countless challenges and rewards. Mallory uses the experience as a jumping off point for his motivational speaking programs. David F. David F. Rooney photoThursday, February 5, saw an event that a lot of people were waiting for: a concert at the Performing Arts Centre by the Fab Fourever Beatles tribute band. The concert was held just a few days before the anniversary of The Beatles first appearance on the iconic 1960s variety TV program the Ed Sullivan Show. The Beatles first stop in Canada was on August 22, 1964, in Vancouver where they played to a huge crowd Empire Stadium. David F. Rooney photoJody Tennant (Paul McCartney), Kevin Davey (John Lennon), Jean-Luc Perron (George Harrison) and Paul Kaszony (Ringo Star) put on an excellent show that brought back a lot of memories for the mostly grey-haired crowd. David F. Rooney photoWith Blake Mackay (left) on keyboards, the Fab Fourever played a memorable series of songs, focusing on Beatles hits from albums like Something New, to Sgt. Pepper, Abbey Road and the White Album. David F. Rooney photoThe Fab Fourever’s costumes were impeccable reproductions of those worn by the boys from Liverpool on different album covers. David F. Rooney photoHere are the Fab Fourever decked out in the same clothes the Beatles were wearing on the cover of Abbey Road. Tennant, who plays Paul McCartney, is shoeless as McCartney was, sparking a spate of Paul-is-Dead rumours. David F.
