A fond farewell to Dear Santa

The Revelstoke Theatre Company’s 2013 Christmas production of Dear Santa was, by all accounts, a major success.

Photographer Jason Portras offered The Current some of the photos he took during its final performance and we are pleased to publish them for your enjoyment:

The final showing of the Revelstoke Theatre Company’s Dear Santa, a witty fun-filled play by Norm Foster, was held on Saturday December 14th to a nearly packed house. Santa’s elves worked as hard in his workshop as they did on stage, putting on a great memorable show for an appreciative audience. Jason Portras photo

Lou Flapdoodle (played by Denny Kaulback), Dear Santa’s slick sleigh salesman (try saying that fast), consoles Santa (played by Bob Loeppky) after a harrowing test drive of Lou’s rocket-powered sleigh. Jason Portras photo

Bozidar (played by Darren McKay), Santa’s workshop handyman, was so enthusiastic about the “wrap party” that he nearly wrapped up himself. Bozidar definitely got the most laughs of Dear Santa’s characters. Jason Portras photo

At Dear Santa’s end, the cast bowed to a hearty round of applause from their audience. It was a great show and story, one that will hopefully be reprised next year. If you missed it this year, be sure to come next year. In fact, keep your eyes peeled for the Revelstoke Theatre Company’s next play, which is sure to be a good night out. Jason Portras photo
