‘Tis the season for Christmas shopping!

By David F. Rooney

The Christmas-shopping season began this weekend with the traditional St. Francis of Assisi Tea and Bazaar and the Hand-Made Parade.

The St. Francis Parish Hall was jammed with local ladies eager to visit with friends and purchase Christmas ornaments, gifts and special desserts such as cakes, pies and cookies.

The Hand-Made Parade was moderately busy on Saturday and will be open today, Sunday, November 17, until 3 pm so if you want to get a head start on buying Christmas gifts for family and friends who had better hustle down to the Community Centre  to purchase what you need.

The next big local shopping events looming on the horizon are:

  • Moonlight Madness is coming up on Friday, November 29;
  • The Revelstoke Crime Stoppers’ 5th annual No Host Bazaar is Sunday December 1, from 11 am until 4 pm, at the Community Centre; and
  • The Revelstoke Art Gallery’s signature — And affordable! — Christmas sale, The Christmas Shop, which is being held December 13 – 21 at the Revelstoke Art Gallery, located at 320 Wilson Street, behind the Days Inn.

Here are a few photos from this weekend’s shopping extravaganzas:
