Doris Ellen Morgan passed away at Mt. Cartier Court Extended Care, Revelstoke on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at the age of 96 years.  There will be no formal funeral service by Doris’ own request.  There will be a private family interment where Doris will be laid to rest beside her husband Fred, at a later date.  If one would like to donate in Doris’ memory, you can do so to the charity of your choice.

Doris was born in Revelstoke, B.C. on January 2, 1917, and had been a life-long resident.  She was an active member of the Kinette Club, Revelstoke Senior’s and the Revelstoke Revelers Orchestra.  She was a member of the City Band for 60 years and was an original founding member.  Doris was an avid golfer who won many trophies.  She also was very involved with the Senior’s Games.  Doris was a musician who played many musical instruments including the accordion and saxophone.  She was a wonderful artist whose mediums included pen and ink and paint.  Doris’ proud accomplishment was being the recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal.  In her quiet time, she enjoyed spending time in the rock garden in her yard.

Doris was predeceased by her husband Fred in 1990 and three siblings: Marjorie Colbourne, Joan Dabell and Enid Rutherford.  She is survived by two daughters: Lorelei (John) Campbell of Revelstoke and Bev Sneddon of Revelstoke; five grandchildren: Brett (Elenor) Bradstock of Sorrento, Garth (Cheryl) Bradstock of Sorrento, Lisa (Blaine) Calkins of Grande Prairie, Jaime Sneddon of Revelstoke and Graham Sneddon of Revelstoke; six great grandchildren: Crystal, Carla, Ryan, Alycia, Veronica and Charlotte as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of Brandon Bowers Funeral Home, Revelstoke.
