A 53-year-old Kelowna man died at the scene of his single-vehicle accident by the Enchanted Forest 32 kilometres west of Revelstoke at about 3:17 pm on Wednesday.
A statement from Cpl. Mike Wasylenki, of the RCMP’s Revelstoke-based Trans-Canadfa East Traffic Services, said the man was westbound when he crossed into the eastbound land, “down an embankment coming to rest on its side.”
“Bystanders who witnessed the event were able to roll the vehicle onto its side and eventually remove the driver/sole occupant and begin CPR, which was continued by ambulance attendants up on their arrival on the scene,” Wasylenki said.
However, the man was eventually declared dead at the scene.
