Some of our local artists are offering classes for adults and for children this autumn. If you’ve veer wanted to know how to draw, paint, create ceramics or other forms of art one of these classes may be perfect for you:
INTRODUCTION TO WATERCOLOUR
This 6 week course is suitable for beginners and those with some knowledge of watercolour painting. Donna has recently moved to Revelstoke and is a skilled painter. She has lots of experience teaching and encouraging people to achieve a wide variety of effects using watercolour. A materials list will be circulated before the start of the class.

ART SUNDAYS for KIDS
This fall we are offering three different art classes for kids aged 7-14. Each class is separate but if they register for all three there will be a class fee reduction of $30.

POTTERY CLASS FOR BEGINNERS
If you’ve never tried working with clay or would like to have a refresher course then this class is for you. Come and learn some of the skills and techniques when working with clay including pinch, coil and slab construction.

3D FUNDAMENTALS
Take a leap to the wonder of three-dimensional artwork. This fundamentals class will cover the basic considerations and techniques that can be carried into several media. Class will cover balance, form, and aesthetics while creating an armature, clay maquette, soap carving, and paper caste project. Both abstract and realism will be explored.

BLOCK PRINTING WORKSHOP
Akira Hanson has taught successful classes in Revelstoke before and we are delighted to again offer a Block Printing Workshop. The workshop is suitable for beginners and those with some experience.

GOUACHE and WATER PENCILS
Water media can be both challenging and exciting. The basic principles of drawing in wet media will be explored, while experimenting with graphite wash pencils, watercolour pencils, gouache and pastel, both individually and combined.

EXPLORE SILK PAINTING
This 4 week course will introduce you to the basics of silk painting. Various projects will be completed including painting a scarf, a picture and making greeting cards. No experience necessary. Great results guaranteed!

LIGHT BULB CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS
Some of you will have seen Lori Anderson’s wonderfully quirky Lightbulb Fish in the Summer Art Fair at the Revelstoke Art Gallery. Lori will be offering a one day workshop where you can make two Christmas lightbulb decorations, a Santa and a Snowman. All materials provided.

PAINTING with ACRYLICS – Level 2:
For students with some painting experience, we continue the journey of painting acrylic realism. Course covers complementary and non-local colour usage using opaque and transparent techniques with a higher level of difficulty – working on larger canvases over longer periods of time.
