Our landscape recreated in an amazing slab of cedar

Isn't this a gorgeous piece of work? This hand-carved, eight-foot cedar slab was commission by the Revelsoke Community Forest Corporation to mark its 20th anniversary. Master carver Rod Aspeslet spent two-and-a-half months carving it. He used spruce, white pine, birch and sumac for many of the details such as Mount Begbie and Frenchman's Cap, the court house, logging equipment and other local landmarks. This work of art will be delivered to the City later in the week and will eventually be exhibited at the — hopefully — soon-to-be-completed Visitor Information Centre being built beside Pharmasave.
