Cycling for kids!

Cooper's Foods Manager James Inglis (left, center) put in quite a few hours in the saddle on Saturday cycling in place with RCMP Const. Seanan Sharp who is raising money for Cops for Kids charity. Sharp is participating in the annual Cops for Kids autumn ride. He and other participants will cycle 1,000 kilometres in 1 days. Although he's an outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing, Inglis is not a cyclist. Even so, he did pretty well. "I checked the odometer to see how we were doing ," he said shortly after as 1 pm. "We've done the better part of 75 kilometres." Sharp said he wants to raise the charity's profile so the public has a clearer notion of what it does. Cops for Kids exists to help children who are, in one way or another, in crisis. So far this year they are making grants to help six children, including the Beisel family's baby Neve. You can find out more about Cops for Kids — and even make an online donation — at the charity's website at http://www.copsforkids.org. David F. Rooney photo
