This year’s Summer Reading Club will help kids’ soar

Summer is almost here and that means it’s just about time for the Summer Reading Club to start!

The theme for this year’s club is Up, Up and Away! And registration is set to begin on June 19 at the Revelstoke branch of the Okanagan Regional Library.

This year’s special programs, all of which are free, include:

Friday, June 28, 1 pm
Things with Wings Chapter 1: Insect Mania with The Okanagan Science Centre.
Check out the amazing adaptations of live insects under high magnification!

Wednesday, July 3, 2 pm
Harry Potter Chapter 1: Quidditch World Cup
Dress up as a witch or wizard and come play a game of Quidditch!

Wednesday, July 10, 2 pm
Harry Potter Chapter 2: Mystical Willow Wands.
Put on that witch or wizard costume again, make a wand and try your hand at some magical spells!

Wednesday, July 17, 2 pm
Things with Wings Chapter 2: Owlie Growlies!
Check out some owl barf with Parks Canada Interpretation Officer, Verena Blasy

Wednesday, July 24, 2 pm
Look Up, Look Way Up!

A visit from Revelstoke Paragliders, some parachute games, and some fun with paper gliders.

Wednesday, July 31, 2 pm
Super Hero Boot Camp

Leave your secret identity at home, put on your super suit, and try our super hero challenges!

Wednesday, September 4, 4 pm
Medal Ceremony and Volunteer Appreciation
