Theatre company seeks a “rehearsal audience”

The Revelstoke Theatre Company is actively seeking a rehearsal audience as it prepares to take it’s one-act play, Fuel, to Theatre BC’s Mainstage festival in Kamloops in July.

“An important performance element for cast and crew is an audience to play off, so we are inviting past and present Theatre Company members to attend the rehearsal as audience members,” company said in an e-mail.

The rehearsal is on Saturday June 29 at 7:30 pm at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre.

Please note this is not a public performance,” the theatre company’s e-mail said. “(This) no-cost attendance is by invitation only. There may be stops and starts throughout the rehearsal.”

Meanwhile, the theatre company is also holding two free workshops next month. In their first workshop, on June 22 from 1 until 5 pm, directors and potential directors are invited in an observational — and not participatory role —as cast and crew of its recent production of Fuel are prepared for their performance at the provincial Mainstage festival in Kamloops on July 8.

The workshop facilitator is Danielle Dunn-Morris, one BC’s actresses, directors and producers. Click here to learn more about her.

This workshop will take place at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre at 1007 Vernon Avenue. Advance registration is required. To register please contact Lyn Kaulback by email denlyn1@telus.net or by phone 250-837-3687.

Dunn-Morris is also facilitating the acting workshop the theatre company is offering on June 23 from 10 am until 2 pm.

Space in this workshop is limited to12 people. Participants are advised to dress comfortably and must be prepared to work on their feet.

This workshop is open to anyone who wants to explore acting, perhaps learn something new or open some doors for future work with RTC productions. Advance registration is required. To register please contact Lyn Kaulback by email denlyn1@telus.net or by phone 250-837-3687.
