The Revelstoke Accommodation Association will be heading to New Zealand and Australia early this month to promote the 2013/14 ski/snowboard and winter activities season.
RAA will attend the Melbourne and Sydney Ski and Snowboard Shows and travel agencies and tour operators in Auckland New Zealand and area.
“We felt there was a need to promote Revelstoke in these emerging international markets,” RAA Marketing Manager Thom Tischik said in a statement. “Our nearest competitors, Silver Star, Big White and Sun Peaks will all be in both locations as well as Whistler/Blackcomb and other major North American resorts. To stay competitive in the marketplace, we need to be at these locations to promote Revelstoke as a world-class destination.”
He said Revelstoke offers skiers a few things that other resorts lack: high-volume and high-quality snow, the most lift-serviced vertical in North America and an authentic Canadian small town “all in one location”.
The RAA will promote Revelstoke as a whole touting the ease of access from Kelowna International Airport, local shuttle service and the friendly small town atmosphere that Revelstoke offers and, of course, the amazing skiing, snowboarding and other winter-sport activities.
Revelstoke will also be promoted as a Canadian Mountain Destination during spring, summer and fall.
