Peter Bernacki is so ticked off at people who think they have a right to destroy political campaign signs that he is offering a $500 reward for information leading to their identification, arrest and conviction.

“This is for anyone destroying any political signs — not just the BC Liberal Party’s signs,” he said Thursday.

Bernacki, who is vice-president of the BC Liberal Constituency Association for Columbia River-Revelstoke, said he and other volunteers have seen several dozen signs destroyed by vandals.

“This isn’t right,” he said. “People have a right to put up their signs.”

Bernacki said people who disagree with a candidate or his/her party do not have a right to destroy their campaign signs.

“I’ll be speaking with the police about this,” he said.

If you know who is destroying political signs in Revelstoke and would like to claim the reward please call Peter Bernacki at 250-837-1462 or the Revelstoke RCMP at 250-837-5255.
