We had seven kids compete at the BC Junior Closed Squash Championships in Nanaimo this past weekend. The highlight was Tettey Tetteh winning the combined Boys U13B/U15B Provincial Title. This was our club’s first Junior Tournament Title. There were 75 players competing in the tournament for the various provincial titles.

Other results were:

Sophie Dorrius — 4th in the Girls U11B/U13B

Julia Dorrius — 3rd in the Girls U11B/U13B

Conner McCabe — 4th in the Boys U13B/U15B

Gavin Mason — 7th in the Boys U15 main draw

Gabe Laidlaw — 8th in the Boys U15 Main Draw

Gordon Mason — 4th in the Boys U17B/U19B

The key moment for Tettey was in his second match of the weekend. He was down 2 games to love, and came back to win the match 3 games to 2. He really dug in and played really hard to earn the key victory of his weekend.
