![Jill Leslie and Sharon Cain hold the lovely quilt they made as a fundraiser for the Revelstoke Hospital Auxiliary and Cheryl Fry and Wendy Larson (right) draw the winners of the raffle. Kelly Cann won the quilt. Kathie MacKay won the second prize — a basket of gourmet coffees and Fly Boyes won the third prize basket of Green products. The draw raised $2,440 to support the Auxiliary’s good works in Revelstoke. No matter how you look at it, the Hospital Auxiliary Society does a marvellous job of raising money to support seniors, sick people and others in dire need in our community. They are also a major donor to the Ambulance Service, the Fire and Rescue Service, Mount Cartier Court and the hospital. Here’s what they did last year: DONATIONS 2012 Community Connections Food Bank$12, 000.00 Community Connections $1,000.00 Revelstoke Senior Citizens Association $1,000.00 Revelstoke Community Foundation $1,539.27 Revelstoke District Health Foundation $2,000.00 BC Cancer Foundation $75.00 Heart & Stroke Foundation $75.00 EQUIPMENT PURCHASED 2012 Revelstoke Ambulance Service $9,531.20 Revelstoke Highway Rescue Services $11,499.65 Mt. Cartier Court $5,794.36 Queen Victoria Hospital $120,771.50 Total $165, 279.68 That’s a terrific effort and it’s possible because they are heavily supported by local people… folks like you! Just one more note of interest: this is the third quilt Jill and Sharon have created to benefit fundraising efforts in our community. My hat's off to you ladies. David F.
