Dedicated firefighters

Fire Chief Rob Girard presented 9 local firefighters with Justice Institute of BC Basic Firefighting Certificates at the February meeting night. “Each of these firefighters have successfully completed both the written and practical portions for the certificate requirements,” Girard said, adding that each of them devoted “an unbelievable amount of work time and dedication… to protecting our community.” The program offered additional training in safety, personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, ropes and knots, ladders, ventilation, fire hoses, water supplies and appliances and streams.  “We are very proud of each of them and their accomplishments,” Girard.
