The man who was killed in an avalanche on Mount Mackenzie on Friday has been identified as 24-year-old Holger Achim Fritz originally from Stuttgart.
Fritz and a party of friends were skiing out of bounds when an avalanche swept over them near Greeley Bowl. Three people, including Fritz, were buried. Two were rescued but Fritz could not be revived after he was dug out of the snow.
His body was recovered Saturday by a search and rescue team.
