Marlene was not only a wise woman of Christian faith and strong moral character but, through her involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion, a pillar of the annual Remembrance Day ceremonies.

That could well be so, but this moment when MLA Norm Macdonald presented her with a Queen’s Jubilee Medal after the 2012 Remembrance Day ceremony was certainly a highlight that she enjoyed, bringing both a smile to her lips and tear to her eye.
