Out-of-bounds American skier rescued on Sunday

A Jacksonville, Wyoming, man who went out of bounds at RMR on Saturday was found — cold but safe — on Sunday, the RCMP said Tuesday.

“Late Saturday afternoon on January 5…  the Revelstoke RCMP received a report of the man getting separated from his friends while the group was skiing at the Revelstoke Mountain Resort,” the Mounties said in a statement. “The man ended up outside of the resort-controlled area boundaries and became lost in the Montana Creek area. The local SAR team was activated Saturday, however due to night fall and weather conditions searchers had to wait until Sunday morning in order to safely assess and enter the area.”

Revelstoke Search and Rescue technicians located the 30-year-old man Sunday morning at around 9:40 am.
