Mounties seek woman’s assailant

A woman who was attempting to open her car door on New Year’s Eve was the victim of an assault when an unidentified man grabbed her and tried to push her to the ground at about 9:10 pm in the 1600 Block of Third Street West.

Fortunately for her, a neighbour startled the man, causing him to flee in an easterly direction down a back alley.

In a statement  Wednesday afternoon, RCMP Cpl. Thomas Blakney described the man as being between 20 and 30 years of age, approximately six feet (180 cm) tall, clean-shaven, with broad shoulders and a slim build. He was wearing dark-coloured jeans with white stitching on the pant legs and pant pockets, a black toque, a short, black heavy-style jacket and light-coloured winter boots with laces.

While the woman was shaken and distraught, she did not sustain any physical injuries.
